We are excited and eager this year because we are partnering with three nonprofit organizations, Re-Discover Me, Visions of Women, and Restoration and Purpose for Women, Inc. during Victim of Crimes Week to host a community event to reduce violence, raise awareness, and provide resources and support to Survivors and their families. The Stomp Out Crime Community Outreach, will be held on April 29, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. This free event includes a talent showcase featuring local youth, schools, sororities, and fraternities, self defense demonstration, entertainment, community nonprofit organizations, various police departments, government agencies, car clubs, vendors, food trucks and a Survivors Tribute. All ages and demographics are welcome, however we are targeting youth and adults ages 18-24. We are planning for over 2,000 attendees across the state of South Carolina. We are finalizing the contract to host this event in the football stadium of Benedict College, a Historical Black College. This location is located in 29204 and near 29203 which is the zip codes with highest crime rates in the City of Columbia.
